I Have Moved Out Of Metro !

24 Jul 2008 In: Kannan

Came to this metro almost 3 yrs back and lived in a not so calm place!!
After almost spending 3 yrs in the same home, the house owner wanted me to vacate the house as he wanted to re-build the house and increase the rent.

So I had around a month to find a new house and was searching very hard . Even though there were good houses, in the past 1 year the house rents have increased phenomenally. Now the rents are almost 2 to 3 times and the house owners have become very greedy!

After searching almost for 3 months I didn't had a choice and have to move out of the metro for 2 major reasons.
One was that my new work place is almost 60KMs from home and it takes almost an hour to reach office or home.
Two house rents are so high that almost half of my take home salary will be gone. Other than that the pollution in city is very high, no air circulation! (daarn even if you don't have walls and your house is open still you will need a fan to make the already polluted air to move ! ), abnormal prices of essential eatables and other items.

Now I have moved a little outside the metro and feel good . I guess I got lucky, the new house is in a calm place surrounded by mountains; fresh air flows through the cross ventilated house and don't need fan or A.C; house is a little nearer to office. Most of all now I can use public transport, especially the city train; I love to travel in Train!!!

After moving to this new house I have realized that are lot of advantages in living outside a metro than inside a metro.
1. No need for fans or A/C so electricity bill will be less.
2. I can avoid using my vehicle. I can use the City Train to travel.
3. The house's rents are cheaper.
4. The prices of essential eatables and other things are of normal prices.
5. People at least smile at each other

Some disadvantages of living outside a metro than inside a metro are
1. Will be missing buzzing streets.
2. Entertainment features are less.
3. Getting an electronic item is easier in metro.
4. When you need something, make a call and that something will be delivered to your home!

Even though when I was in metro and realized some of these, I thought metro life was better than the current life. But I guess I was wrong.

Especially my parent will be happy to feel the fresh air and calmness of a non-metro life.

Guess I have lot of things to share about this new place

New House

15 Mar 2008 In: Kannan

After a very long time we have built another floor in our house.

Dad took lot of efforts to build the house and thanks to my job I assisted him very little   (This IT job always takes over a person's personal life). He monitored each and every aspect of house to a such a low detail that he knows how many screws are there in a switch board !!

Even when he build the house in ground floor, he monitored things himself. Also thanks to his relative and friends they assisted him a lot in building this house.

Over all this is a house with 2 Bedrooms, 1 Hall, 1 Kitchen & Sit out

Important features of house

  1. Very airy, yes you can almost fly ( I know it's not possible ). Thanks to all huge & so many windows.
  2. Due to large & number of windows the house is very bright. (These days lot of houses look dark & haunted !!)
  3. Shiny floor tiles, yes you can almost see your reflection, because of these tiles the house looks so bright.
  4. The tiles are of corporate flooring type with grouting and looks very modern.
  5. Hall is a spacious with ports for a 6.2 home theatre system, a fountain & spaces for statue.
  6. Kitchen, its a modern, spacious & modular type (You can park two SUV's in the kitchen )
  7. Kitchen has wall tiles raised till ceiling. No more worry about those oily stains on the walls.
  8. The Kitchen uses electric chimney so again no more worrying of oil stains on wall.
  9. Utility area holds water and electricity provisions for using automatic/semi automatic washing & dish washers machines.
  10. The bathrooms, they are spacious, you can sleep there too .
  11. Bathroom wall tiles are also raised to ceiling to avoid walls getting wet and bad on daily usage.
  12. Bathroom has fittings of latest types and one fitting which I like very much is the rainy shower !!
  13. Lot of electric switches, you will find a two-way switch near you, no more running here and there to switch of a light or fan.
  14. All electric switches are modern types and safe, no more electric shocks(Still wet hands will lead to electric shocks, so better be dry when you operate a switch   !!)
  15. The house uses 2 normal and 1 drinking water tanks with 3 fully automatic submersible pumps. (No more water wasting and running here and there for switching off the pumps)
  16. House will be using solar water heater with built in heater in case of sun going off !!. (Harnessing the power of nature is a good idea to save resources).
  17. All pipes in the house use both hot and cold water, thanks to the solar water heater.
  18. All the house lighting uses CFL Lamps, again lot of energy is saved.
  19. The parking lot can hold a SUV & a Sedan.
  20. The house is surrounded by a 2 feet continuous space on all sides, kids can play and drive cycles around the house.

This weekend made me tired !!

17 Feb 2008 In: Kannan

Oh man, I was thinking about dusting off the home theatre and service my bike for long time. But kind of lazy .

This weekend I thought I have to work on them.

After switching to this new company which is situated way out of the city I live, I don't use my bike very much.
I was very much worried about the engine. The fuel is an old one and the engine oil is old too

I love my bike very much Its a beast !!

Hence reached home early on Friday, cleaned the bike a little. I hate the city I am living in . It is full of pollution and things get very dusty !!

As usual, I have a procedure to start the bike to prolong the engine's life. Once the procedure is done, the bike after initial cough   came to life

Reached the service centre, they were happy to see the good customer returning back . Explained them about the bike not being used for a long time. They took a note of it

Few month back I met with an accident due to an idiot biker   who came on the wrong side behind me and our handle bars got locked up. Which led me do a body scate in the tarmac and I ended up with a deep bruise in my hand and my bike's side indicator and the wolf mask got scratched very much .

So I informed the service centre to replace my wolf mask, Engine Oil, Recharge the battery and returned back home.

Woke up a little late on Saturday and decided to clean up the home theatre.
Started cleaning all the speakers and took lot of time to clean the speaker grills. Finally the home theatre was clean and neat. I love my home theatre very much. My dad presented me it after finishing my college. Its a costly one 45,000 bucks and a loud one 7500 watts

Then I turned towards the LCD TV which had some dust on its top. My third costly buy after my mobile. Another 55,000 bucks. This time from my pocket . So cleaned that up too.

Finally I looked at my computer. Poor thing, it was begging to get cleaned so I decided to clean it too . Holy macro... the front intake duct filter was full of dust. Took some time to clean. This one is the costliest buy till date, over a lack !

Now my room was clean but I was tired

Took an afternoon nap and by around 4 in the evening got a call from service centre  . The bike was ready with new looks . The total amount was 1700 bucks !!. That darn biker costed me 1400 bucks .

This time I decided to give a sticker job for the top mask. The guy did a good job and costed 100 bucks. But looks good .

So I would say, this weekend was an useful one and all my favourite things are looking as good as kind of new .
